Physicality

Laquon Treadwell is big and plays big. He is not afraid to fight with defensive backs before and after the catch and is not afraid to go over the middle. He contests at the catch point and will break tackles as a runner, utilizing a powerful stiffarm. He keeps his legs churning through tackles and is difficult to bring down.

He is also a willing and able blocker, and does so with some attitude. He looks to rock the defender on initial contact and continues to push through the whistle. On passing plays when he does not receive the ball, he will often search out blocks to make, staying engaged with the play.

Technique

Treadwell is a very polished player at the position and understands many of the nuances of playing wide receiver. He is very consistent in the way he comes off the line of scrimmage, be it run or pass. He is skilled at manipulating his routes to keep himself between the defender and the ball, and has good body control, using his large frame to box out smaller defensive backs.

Importantly he is a natural hands catcher and is very comfortable catching the ball away from his body. He tracks the ball in the air exceptionally well and will extend his arms as late as possible, decreasing the likelihood of the pass being broken up. His advanced technique and knowledge of the position will enable Treadwell to be an earl impact player as a rookie.
