Jumping one pick in front of the New York Jets, the Browns could make a deal with the Buffalo Bills that would be made exclusively if the Browns had quarterback on the brain. As the draft stands now, there is no one between the Browns and the Jets that has any real interest or need in taking a quarterback.

Cleveland received three picks in the top-100 in this year’s draft, the Eagles’ first rounder in 2017 and their second rounder in 2018 to move down six spots in the trade with Philadelphia. If the Browns decided to do this deal with the Bills, they would be moving down 11 spots. The amount that Cleveland would receive likely would be, and should be, massive.

A move up for the Bills would put them in position to get a player such as UCLA linebacker Myles Jack or, in a situation that would be more likely than with the Titans, select a top receiver. After quarterback Tyrod Taylor’s impressive year in 2015 and Percy Harvin’s retirement this offseason, adding on Will Fuller or Laquon Treadwell would make the Bills immensely more competitive in an always tough AFC East.

It does always seem to come back to quarterbacks for the Browns. The picks they would receive from this trade, along with the ones they received from the Eagles, would give the Browns the opportunity to get a mid-round quarterback like Ohio State’s Cardale Jones, who is considered by some to have the highest potential ceiling in this year’s class, or the speedy and strong Trevone Boykin out of TCU.
