Hiring Hue Jackson was one of the best decisions the franchise has made since returning in 1999. He has been coaching football since 1987, and has been coaching in the NFL since 2001.

Jackson was able to come in and light a spark under a team that went 3-13 in 2015. His positive attitude has given this team confidence heading into the season, something that may not have been there with past teams.

It is great to see the players from last season embrace Jackson so fast. The same goes for the rookies, who do not have to deal with the negative stigma of getting drafted by the Browns. There are those who claim careers go to die in Cleveland, but it is clear the culture is different now that Jackson is in town.

All of this excitement around Jackson has come before he has coached one game for the Browns, or even started training camp.

With all the chances the Browns have had to hire qualified head coaches, Jackson may be the first since 1999. He has experience working on different parts of coaching staffs, while also serving as a head coach in 2011 with the Oakland Raiders.

He comes into the season with low expectations, allowing him to properly develop this young team without too much pressure to win right away.
