Cleveland Browns quarterback Robert Griffin III will get another chance to lead the team to a victory this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

Robert Griffin III‘s return did not go well, but it’s hard to say it wasn’t an expected outcome.

Griffin led the 0-12 Cleveland Browns to an 0-13 record, throwing for 104 yards and never looking comfortable in his second start of the season.

But no matter how bad it seemed, it was not enough to see Cody Kessler or Josh McCown return to the starting lineup. Griffin will indeed be back out there this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, according to Hue Jackson.

The move is not surprising given all the turnover at the position all season. If Griffin is healthy, replacing him would only hurt any chemistry built with the offense over the past few weeks.

Then there is the fact Kessler and McCown cannot possibly be at full health after the beatings they have taken all season. Throwing either of them back on the field with a healthy Griffin on the sidelines just wouldn’t make sense.

But it is going to be hard to support the move if the former Rookie of the Year has another performance as bad as Sunday’s against the Cincinnati Bengals. He seemed to disregard coverage on deep balls and just throw it up for grabs, while he spiked several short throws straight into the ground in front of his receivers.

The weather did not help his situation, but Buffalo is only going to be worse. Anything but a blizzard or freezing temperatures will be a surprise.

The likelihood of 0-16 increased yesterday not only because of the loss, but because of how bad Griffin looked. 23 points allowed by the defense isn’t great, but it is not an insurmountable mark for most NFL offenses.

Griffin only led two solid drives against the Bengals, with only one ending in a touchdown. Aside from those, it was a painful performance to watch.

Questions at the quarterback position are nothing new for Browns fans, and it is more than likely that Griffin will be replaced at some point in the final three games if it is clear his ability to lead the team to a win has vanished.
