Tight Ends: B
The mystery of Hue Jackson‘s obsession with formations involving two tight ends has not yet been solved. But in Sunday’s defeat, the idea of 12 or 22 personnel served the offense fairly well.
Gary Barnidge caught all five passes thrown his way, contributing 40 yards in total as well as a touchdown. Rookie Seth DeValve also came up with a touchdown catch serving as his only reception of the afternoon, and then went on to block very well.
Randall Telfer also played several downs throughout the game, and was targeted on the first-and-goal play in overtime.
Overall, the tight ends contributed to a solid game for Cleveland blockers, and even provided a bit of an offensive spark. This is more than can be said for this group in past weeks.
