Round 2 Pick 33: Isaiah Oliver, CB, Colorado

Next up in the draft for the Cleveland Browns is their first pick in the second-round of the 2018 NFL Draft. After getting a quarterback and safety in the first, they decide to add more to their secondary. The choice is Isaiah Oliver out of Colorado.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Oliver has excellent height at 6-foot-1 and decent weight at 190-pounds. He plays incredibly fast, but ran slower than expected at the Combine when he clocked in at 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. That shouldn’t be too much of a deterrent as there’s never been an issue with him running with receivers.

What really draws the Browns to him though is his length. Oliver has incredibly long arms, which can give receivers fits. He used those long arms to deflect 12 passes his junior season while also intercepting two passes.

Oliver’s presence could make the Browns much better in the secondary. Jason McCourty was picked up as a veteran free agent in 2017 and he played very well for them. They also had Briean Boddy-Calhoun who played well in the slot.

Adding the talented Oliver to the outside with Fitzpatrick from Round 1 patrolling deep, the Browns suddenly have a much better secondary than a season before.
