Round 2, No. 33 Overall: Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville

With their first pick in the second-round, the Browns go for Louisville cornerback Jaire Alexander. He’s one of the more talented corners in the draft, but injury concerns push him out of the first round. He doesn’t fall far from it though as the Browns pick him up at No. 33.

Alexander showed enough in drills at the Combine to prove he’s one of the most athletic corners in the draft. The last time he was fully healthy, Alexander had 39 tackles nine pass defenses and five interceptions for the Cardinals. Putting him in the defensive backfield with Damarious Randall, Jabrill Peppers and Jason McCourty gives them a much-improved group in 2018.

Round 2, No. 35 Overall: Brian O’Neil, OT, Pittsburgh

The jury is still out on Joe Thomas at left tackle, but the belief has to be he will come back following the new blood brought into the team. The Browns would still be wise to draft his eventual replacement so there’s no panic if he decides to call it quits after this year.

They choose Pittsburgh’s Brian O’Neil, another player who has first-round talent but is there early in the second. He’s probably one of the most athletic tackles, as evidenced by his 4.82 in the 40-yard dash. He could stand to put on some muscle as he weighs in just under 300-pounds.
