3. Benson Mayowa, DE, Dallas Cowboys

This is a player we’ve looked at before as our own Tom Moore discussed the possibility of the Browns kicking the tires on Benson Mayowa, the Dallas Cowboys sack leader from 2016.

"“The Browns also need to build some depth at the position, especially given that they have gotten nothing out of defensive end Nate Orchard and the roster currently includes players like Ricky Ali’ifua and Lavar Edwards. That could lead Dorsey to take a look at defensive end Benson Mayowa, who was reportedly released on Wednesday by the Dallas Cowboys in a move to shave $2.75 million off the salary cap.” Moore, Dawg Pound Daily"

Mayowa is an underrated player and because he had just one sack in 2017 people often make the mistake of thinking he regressed. That’s not the case as he was still an effective edge player. Granted Mayowa will never be a household name, he is a proven pass rusher that could provide a spark as a rotational player behind Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah.

In his career, Mayowa has 77 total tackles and nine sacks. He also has 11 career starts, providing some decent experience while still being just 26-years old.
