Cleveland Browns: Staff predictions for the first and fourth picks

For the love of Browns football, can they please just draft a future franchise quarterback with their No. 1 overall pick? Just ‘cause they’ve failed to do so in the past doesn’t mean they shouldn’t try to do the right thing again this year, especially given that it’s what they’ve spent the last two years setting up for and it’s the whole reason they brought in GM John Dorsey’s crew in the first place.

Personally, I like Baker Mayfield’s confidence and ball accuracy and competitiveness and leadership reputation, but I trust the current front office to determine if he’s too short for their new offense or if Sam Darnold or one of the Josh’s are a better choice for the Browns.
As for pick No. 4 overall, I get why people really want running and receiving stud Saquon Barkley, and if he’s still there, I wouldn’t be too upset if he’s the guy Dorsey picks. What I’d like to see even more, though, is for Dorsey to follow through on his initial claim that the most important positions he’s considering are quarterback, pass rusher, cornerback, left tackle and wide receiver.
Either Minkah Fitzpatrick or Bradley Chubb at four would make me and a lot of other Browns fans extremely happy.
