No. 8: Jeff Garcia

Jeff Garcia was an undrafted quarterback out of San Jose State. After a few years with the 49ers, he made his way to the Cleveland Browns.

Garcia earned 10 starts in his tenure with the Cleveland Browns, going 3-7 over those 10. He would start Week 1 of the 2004 season, getting a win against the Ravens. It was a 20-3 win, where Garcia played pretty well. He would throw for 180 yards on 15-of-24 passing with a single scoring pass. He would later beat the Redskins and then the Bengals during the season.

In his final win as the Browns starting quarterback, he defeated a 1-4 Bengals team by a score of 34-17. Garcia would open the game off with a 99-yard touchdown pass to Andre’ Davis. That would be one of four touchdowns he would throw that game. Eventually Luke McCown would take over the starting job, ending Garcia’s time with the Browns.

Garcia was released and signed with the Lions the next season. He would finish his time with the Browns with 10 touchdowns, 9 picks, 1,731 yards, and 57.1 completion percentage.

No. 7: Charlie Frye

Charlie Frye was the other kid from Akron. Taken by the Browns in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft, he was expected to sit and become the future quarterback.

Frye sat behind Trent Dilfer for most of his rookie year, eventually earning his first start in Week 13. Despite the 20-14 loss to the Jaguars, Frye showed a lot of promise in the game. He threw a pair of scoress to Braylon Edwards. Along with those passes, Frye completed 13-of-20 for 226 yards.

Frye would get his first NFL win in a 9-7 game against the Raiders. He would have an okay game throwing for 198 yards and an interception. That season, he would also help lead the Browns to a 20-16 win in Week 17 against the Ravens.

Frye would get to start Week 1 for the next season, earning 13 starts that year, with just four wins and nine losses. His last win as a Cleveland Browns starting quarterback would be Week 13 against the Chiefs, where he was injured and cleared the way for Derek Anderson to take over.

Frye would earn the starting job after a quarterback battle with Anderson for the 2007 season, but quickly be replaced in Week 1 after a bad start.

Frye was traded to the Seahawks the following season.
