Week 1 at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers

This one may be the biggest shocker on the list, but it’s a game that makes a ton of sense. For years, the Browns have been getting bullied by the Pittsburgh Steelers and things got even worse last year to finish off their horrendous 0-16 season.

With Pittsburgh ready for the playoffs, Cleveland went out there and competed against a lot of backups. They were in full desperation mode to try and erase the zero that had been stinking up their win column all season.

It came down to the final minutes and Cleveland was trailing by four. Quarterback DeShone Kizer and the Browns were on the field for a late fourth-down play hoping to make a game-winning drive. Kizer fired the ball to receiver Corey Coleman, who promptly dropped the first-down catch and saw their season end in the most embarrassing way possible.

The Browns have spent all offseason trying to move on from this dreadful season and there’s no better way to exercise the demons from 2017 than to defeat the Steelers to kick off the season. For Coleman, this could be a huge game too.

After hearing all offseason about his status on the team being in question, he can silence the doubters and put this terrible memory out of his mind with a great opening to 2018.

Another factor in this one will be Todd Haley now calling the plays for the Browns. Haley spent the last six seasons with the Steelers and there were some tumultuous times between him and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Nothing would make him happier with his move to Ohio than to score a big win in front of his new fans while upsetting his old team.
