3. Who’s playing left tackle?

Joel Bitonio vs. Austin Corbett might be one of the most important Browns training camp battles in years. Who will take the reigns at left tackle in the absence of Joe Thomas? It’s obvious that Cleveland drafted Corbett to help out on the left side of their offensive line, but will he play tackle or guard?

Both Corbett and Bitonio played at Nevada, have similar builds, and are built as NFL left guards. Now that the Browns have lost the most prototypical left tackle on their roster in Donald Stephenson, this conversation becomes even more interesting.

Both players have their pros and cons, but not enough for either of them to pull away in any fashion. For maybe the second or third-most important position on the roster, this creates intrigue in the worst possible way. The Browns need to find a left tackle.

Spencer Drango wasn’t dreadful last year, but after seeing the greatness of Thomas for an entire decade, he put a bad taste in the franchise’s mouth. The Browns have to find a solidified answer for 2018, before Taylor or Mayfield get killed back there.

No matter how good or bad the rest of your offensive line is, the left tackle is any NFL team’s bread and butter. If the Browns can’t find a solution between Bitonio and Corbett, they could be in for some big trouble this autumn.
