Quarterback (3): Tyrod Taylor, Drew Stanton, Baker Mayfield

The final position we look at with our 53-man roster prediction for the Cleveland Browns is easily the most important. Here we have their quarterbacks which consists of three completely new players. Last year’s group is all gone as DeShone Kizer is in Green Bay, Cody Kessler is with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Kevin Hogan landed with the Washington Redskins.

This year, the Browns are turning things over to Tyrod Taylor. He was a huge piece of the puzzle for the Buffalo Bills last season as they ended the longest playoff drought in the NFL. As fate would have it, the Bills shipped him to Cleveland and he again is under center for the new team with the longest time since making the postseason. If he guides the Browns to the playoffs, he will become very rich in the offseason as he’s on the last year of his deal.

Drew Stanton will be the No. 2 quarterback this season and is playing a vital role for Cleveland. In the past, they’ve had to rush rookies to the field early and their plan is to not have to do this with Baker Mayfield. The No. 1 overall pick will be the face of the team one day, but the Browns want this to be on their own terms.

Having a veteran like Stanton allows this to happen. If something does happen to Taylor, Stanton steps in and guides the offense. This keeps Mayfield from being thrown to the wolves before being deemed ready.

These faces are all new for the team and they all give them much more confidence, not only this season but going forward as well. This is easily the most talented quarterback room the Browns have had since returning to the league in 1999.
