Heading into year two, he’s looking to be even better. Garrett spent the offseason trying to hone his craft by watching film from one of the best edge rushers in the game, Julius Peppers of the Carolina Panthers. Again we look to Mary Kay Cabot, who was quick to praise the work of Garrett who has shown plenty of burst in the first week of camp.
"“Garrett showed good burst after spending much of his offseason watching film of Julius Peppers. Garrett, with Emmanuel Ogbah healthy on the left side, is heeding defensive line coach Clyde Simmons‘ advice to not let himself get bullied.” — Cabot via Cleveland.com"
The Browns should have a solid group of pass rushers, even inf PFF doesn’t think so. It all depends on the health and progress of Garrett though. He’s going to have to step up and be a team leader on this defense.
Thankfully, early indications make it apparent that it will be no problem for the charasmatic young star to become that physical leader for them.
