2016 First Round Pick: Corey Coleman, Wide Receiver

Games played with Browns: 19
Where is he now? Just traded to the Buffalo Bills

Now that brings us up to date with the most recent trade. We all knew that former first-round pick Corey Coleman was on the outs with this team, but it kind of felt like maybe the situation had calmed down.

Rumors were that the Browns looked to trade him earlier in the offseason — maybe even on draft day. Once Danny Shelton was gone, it seemed all but inevitable. Yet, we got to training camp and he was still in the orange and brown. So maybe, he was gonna stick.

He had started to get on offensive coordinator Todd Haley’s bad side, but that also started to slow down as reports surfaced that he once again was starting to show signs of life. That must not have been though as Cleveland simply dumped him off to the Buffalo Bills.

There’s no other way to describe it when a former first-round pick is gone after two seasons and the return on investment is a 2020 seventh-round pick.

It was a sad end for a kid who showed so much promise at one point. It does prove however that Dorsey was telling the truth when he said the previous regime hadn’t been doing a good job in his eyes.
