Offensive player I’m most excited to see: David Njoku, Tight End

Dominant tight ends are becoming harder and harder to find in the NFL. When you think of tight ends you think Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce and the rest are kind of forgotten about. To me, Njoku has the potential to be just as good as those guys. At 6’4”, 246 lbs. he has the frame to dominate, especially in the red zone.

Njoku only had 32 receptions for 386 yards and 4 touchdowns last year. But the fact that he had to work with 3 different quarterbacks with the most looks coming from an inexperienced rookie in DeShone Kizer, who is now on the Green Bay Packers, didn’t help. I look for him and Tyrod Taylor to develop chemistry early and for him to thrive in the red zone.

Defensive player I’m most excited to see: Emmanuel Ogbah, Defensive End

Myles Garrett is going to draw a lot of attention this year from opposing offenses. That being said, it should open up plenty opportunities for other Brown’s defensive linemen to get in on the action. Ogbah will be entering his third year and hopefully feels comfortable with the organization and the game plans and can capitalize on his chances to have a party in the backfield.

I know his stats don’t jump off the page, but with defensive lineman, not all impactful plays can be tracked. Look for Ogbah to rush opposing QBs into bad throws or plug rushing holes and force backs to take negative yard rushes.

Either way, look for big number 90 to be making plays on Sundays.
