Stud: Carlos Hyde, Running Back

After the running game struggled mightily in Week 1 against the New York Giants, they redeemed themselves in Week 2. The Bills were hit with a heavy dose of Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson early, and they made it look easy.

Hyde reminded everyone just how good he can be when he gets rolling. He took his first run just three yards, but followed it with a nine-yard gain and then a 26 yarder. The free agent pickup from San Francisco finished off the team’s first drive with a four-yard touchdown.

It ended up being the only touchdown of the first half for the Browns, as well as the only score courtesy of the first-team this week. Hyde finished the night with 64 yards on the ground with just nine carries. It was a far cry from the week before when no one could get the ball moving whatsoever.

To be fair, the Browns weren’t putting much of an emphasis on running in that first game. Hyde carried the ball just one time as they apparently were fine letting him dip his toes in the water. This week though, he dove in head first and proved the Browns made a wise investment in reaching out to the former Ohio State standout.
