Cleveland Browns: 3 Studs and duds from Preseason Week 2
By Randy Gurzi
Dud: Todd Haley, Offensive Coordinator
The play calling early on was suspect, to say the least. Offensive coordinator Todd Haley was ready to come out and prove his team can run. He did that, but it was a detriment to the passing game.

The first-team looked dangerous on the ground, but they didn’t utilize that and dial-up many play action passes. Starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor was the biggest victim as his night was rather mundane. He finished with just 22 yards on 4-of-7 passing, which was a far cry from how he wowed the team and fans in his debut in the orange and brown.
Again, it’s the preseason, so overreacting isn’t advised. Haley knows what he’s doing and has won many games in the NFL. He’s likely just working on certain things that will help the team out in the regular season. In Week 1, that happened to be more pass-centric. Week 2, the running game was focused on.
However, it’s still upsetting to watch this team and see tight end David Njoku and wide receiver Jarvis Landry get one target — and zero catches — apiece. This shouldn’t be the case going forward, at least not if the Browns want to win.
