1. Jarvis Landry, Wide Receiver

This one is likely to ruffle feathers because wide receiver Jarvis Landry has made a believer of just about everyone since being traded to the Browns this offseason. He’s the best receiver they’ve had since Josh Gordon — who should be ready to roll soon making their offense much more potent — and has the swagger they need on offense.

Landry is coming off a season in which he led the NFL with 112 receptions, which begs the question of why the Dolphins wanted him gone in the first place. The easy answer is that he doesn’t run deep routes.

Despite having 112 receptions, Landry didn’t crack 1,000 yards and averaged just 8.8 yards per catch. To be fair to him, the Miami offense wasn’t doing him any favors, but we have to believe that not only will the Browns be able to get him involved more in the offense, but that he can, in fact, contribute in that way.

So far in the preseason, he wasn’t fully unleashed. Landry had five receptions for 59 yards, which looks much better as he had 11.8 yards per completion. The only question now is if he can keep this up in the regular season.

This isn’t meant to bash Landry in any way, but the fact is he wasn’t striking fear into defenses in 2017 and really just took what was given to him. He wants more in 2018 with the Browns and they will do all they can to make that happen.

dark. Next. Will the Browns carry six WR’s?

We just need to see it all come together. If so, this offense can be truly special as he does bring the confidence the team needs and could be a leader — as long as he puts up the performances he’s being paid for.
