3. Terrance Mitchell, Cornerback

Of all the moves the Browns made this offseason, it’s easy to overlook the addition of cornerback Terrance Mitchell. However, this was an underrated move as he’s much more than a guy who simply got Jarvis Landry so mad he threw a football at his head in practice.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Mitchell is actually a very good corner. He’s a man cover guy, who knows how to get physical. That same trait that irked Landry so bad will lead to many fans falling in love with this guy in no time.

Originally a seventh-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2014 NFL Draft, Mitchell didn’t see the field until 2015. That season he started with the Chicago Bears, before rejoining the Cowboys — who cut him as a rookie. He played well that season in limited time but wasn’t retained by the Cowboys.

Mitchell then joined the Kansas City Chiefs when John Dorsey gave him a deal. According to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), he graded at a 74.2 that season but dropped to 63.6 last year with the Chiefs.

He still recorded 53 tackles and despite his grade slipping with PFF, Mitchell broke out with four interceptions. During camp and the preseason, we all saw how well Mitchell can stick with a wideout. This was a good signing and it’s going to pay off nicely for the Browns.
