2. David Njoku, Tight end

Another guy who played hard in the preseason and won fans over — although they should have already been onboard — was tight end David Njoku. He caught the first preseason touchdown from Tyrod Taylor as a quarterback for the Cleveland Browns and later in the same game did the same for Baker Mayfield.

Njoku is simply a freak of an athlete and he’s a nightmare for opposing defenses to try and stop. His size and insane leaping ability make it impossible for any corner or safety to go up for jump balls with him. His blazing speed makes it equally as hard for any linebacker to stick with him.

As a rookie, Njoku showed his promise. The University of Miami product had 32 receptions for 386 yards and four touchdowns. Those numbers are strong, but when you realize the inconsistent play at quarterback in 2016, they look even better. Add to it that tight end is one of the toughest positions in the NFL to transition to from college, and it shows how high Njoku’s ceiling is.

The previous regime in Cleveland may have missed on a lot of draft picks, but David Njoku was not one of them. This kid is the real deal and will surely be one of the biggest weapons the Browns have on offense in 2018 and beyond.
