Week 5: Baltimore

The Ravens had an undefeated preseason which means …not much. The Ravens look to have more firepower on offense, and they will always have a good defense. But when Baltimore comes into Cleveland, they will be finding a very different Browns team than they’ve faced in years past. The Browns have been competitive with the Ravens and I expect more of the same in this game. A close game, but the Ravens take it.

Week 6: Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are a trendy playoff pick, and this is a team that doesn’t seem to suffer from that West Coast team traveling East thing. Last year, a much less talented Browns team was competitive with Los Angeles. However, given their offensive firepower, I give this one to the Chargers.

Week 7: Tampa Bay

Does anybody know what the Buccaneers are going to be this season? I sure don’t. Jameis Winston should be back by this game, but who knows? The Browns are 0-3 at Raymond James Stadium, but one of the things about this Browns’ team is that they seem faster than teams in years past. and I don’t think the Florida humidity will affect the team as much. How’s that for getting the weather involved in a prediction? Browns win!

Week 8: @ Pittsburgh

Simply put, the Steelers exact a measure of revenge. I’d love to go the other way with this pick, but assuming the Steelers don’t suffer major, unexpected injuries give this one to the Steelers.

So we’re 4-4 at the halfway point. Would you have taken it? On to the second half…
