Dud: Desmond Harrison
The lack of practice time showed for Desmond Harrison on Sunday, as he struggled to keep pressure from getting to Taylor. Harrison had to go up against Bud Dupree, who is one of the better pass rushers in the NFL, and plays like the one seen above were happening.
Dupree would keep Harrison on his toes using a variety of pass rush moves. Harrison struggled to figure out what Dupree was going to do, and Dupree put him on skates often.
Harrison dealing with the pass rushers will get better as he gets more reps over the next couple of weeks. Despite struggling at times, he showed glimpses of the talent he has and how he can shut down the blind side of the quarterback.
But the most concerning part for Harrison was how he struggled mentally. Harrison seemed to be overthinking everything, which caused him to jump the snap a few times.
"“We were trying to communicate with [Harrison] on every play, get him in the right spot, and I thought he improved throughout the game,” Bitonio said."
Harrison was put into a tough spot this week, starting at left tackle despite not getting many reps in August. If he can figure things out mentally, it will help him relax and elevate his play throughout the rest of the season.
