Tyrod Taylor Rebounds from Week One

Browns quarterback Tyrod Taylor was, to put it bluntly, miserable in week one against the Steelers.  Throwing for just 197 yards with a 37.5% completion percentage, Taylor didn’t give fans of the orange and brown much to cheer about last Sunday. Outside of a tremendous late-game throw to Josh Gordon to tie the game at 21, Taylor was a non-factor in his first game as a Brown. Odds are, he should bounce back quite a bit against the Saints.

The truth is, Tyrod Taylor doesn’t play very well in inclement weather. And while the weather in Cleveland last week wasn’t a blizzard or a monsoon, there was certainly a good amount of rain and wind throughout FirstEnergy Stadium. This week, though, the Browns will be playing in a dome. This makes Taylor’s job much, much easier, considering his relative lack of drive on the ball won’t be affected by 35 mph winds.

Of course, the Saints’ defensive unit is nothing to sneeze at, save for week one. Marshon Lattimore, Cameron Jordan, and Sheldon Rankins make up just a few of the pieces on the Saints’ fantastic defense. But, Taylor’s interception-averse style might help the Browns through this one. Make no mistake, the Browns still have a tough job ahead of them on offense. However, Taylor’s style of play thrives in virtually perfect conditions, and he should bounce back despite the Saints’ defensive talent.
