Stud: David Njoku

One of the other players that needed to step up with the amount of injuries at the wide receiver position was tight end David Njoku, and he did just that.

Njoku caught seven of his 12 targets for 55 yards and a touchdown on Sunday, taking advantage of the extra targets he received.

Njoku is another player that has struggled with drops this season, but for the most part on Sunday, it was not a problem for the second year tight end.

He caught his first touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter when the Chargers already had the game in hand. Njoku was lined up split out wide, with Mayfield throwing a fade and Njoku leaping over the Chargers defender for the touchdown. With his athleticism and size, it was good to see the Browns take advantage of it in the red zone, even though the game was already over.

As the season has progressed, Njoku has been performing better each week. With the Browns needing players to step up, it was good to see him making plays. With the Browns likely adding a couple new wide receivers this week, Njoku should expect another healthy amount of targets when the Browns travel to Tampa Bay next week.
