Stud: Nick Chubb

The Browns needed to rely on their run game against the Chiefs in order to limit the amount of times that Mahomes would touch the ball. Rookie running back Nick Chubb was as reliable as he needed to be on Sunday, allowing Kitchens to have faith in giving him the ball.

Chubb rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries against the Kansas City defense. His longest run on the day went for 17 yards. He also caught one pass for five yards.

Something that Chubb does so well is that he sets up his blockers, and he does not just put his helmet and run into a gap blindly. On multiple occasions Sunday, Chubb would stutter step in the backfield to give his blockers time to work and open up a running lane for him.

Chubb is showing that he can be a workhorse back that can remain effective for an entire game. He did not have as much of an impact in the second half, as the Browns deficit was too large to continually run the ball.

Now that Johnson is being used in the offense, it creates a dynamic combo in the backfield. With Kitchens at the helm, expect the two Browns running backs to be the focal points of the offense.
