Touchdown To Interception Ratio

"1. Baker Mayfield 10 TD / 7 INT = 1.43 TD/INT 2. Josh Rosen 5 TD / 6 INT = .83 TD/INT 3. Sam Darnold 11 TD / 14 INT = .79 TD/INT 4. Josh Allen 2 TD / 5 INT = .4 TD/INT"

Another promising stat for Mayfield. He nearly has double the touchdown to interception ratio than the next highest quarterback has, which is pretty impressive. A 1.43 touchdown to interception ratio isn’t that great but it shows serious promise in the rookie.

Rookies are meant to make mistakes, so having a low touchdown to interception ratio your rookie year is not the end of the world. Allen’s .4 touchdown to interception ratio is the only ratio on here that should worry fans, but it could largely be due to the five game sample size.

If Mayfield is able to keep this up for the rest of the season, he should finish the year with around 20 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. This would be a great rookie year for the Browns quarterback and should put him in the discussion for offensive rookie of the year.

Passing Yards Per Game

"1. Baker Mayfield 252.6 Yards Per Game 2. Sam Darnold 214.9 Yards Per Game 3. Josh Rosen 178.7 Yards Per Game 4. Josh Allen 138.7 Yards Per Game"

Well, a team would like to see more passing yards than most of these rookie quarterbacks. Mayfield is the only one who is in acceptable territory, which is quite impressive. In comparison, Brady’s career average is 262 yards per game and he is averaging 277.1 yards per game this season.

Mayfield isn’t far off from being elite. This is not saying he is close to becoming Brady, this is saying that he is very close to becoming a true franchise quarterback. The other rookie quarterbacks are a little bit farther off, Darnold being the 2nd closest.

This is yet another statistic where Mayfield separates himself from the other rookie quarterbacks. Allen’s 138.7 yards per game is pretty concerning as it shows his struggles throwing the ball. It is hard to be a starting quarterback in the NFL but only throw for 138.7 yards per game.

There should not be too much worry for Rosen and Darnold, as both aren’t too far off from good numbers.
