Comparing Baker Mayfield to the other rookie quarterbacks so far

Final Score
"1. Baker Mayfield 1.67 Avg 2. Josh Rosen 2 Avg 3. Josh Allen 2.56 Avg 4. Sam Darnold 3.11 Avg"
From the following statistics, Mayfield is performing the best out of the rookie quarterbacks. This doesn’t come as a surprise, as he looks the best according to the eye test. He has looked like the real deal at quarterback. When he makes a rookie mistake, which isn’t that often, he can brush it off and continue to play like a pro.
The real surprise here is that Darnold is behind Allen. That could be due to the categories I picked to compare them. Personally, I believe the rankings would be perfect if the two were flipped.
Mayfield is significantly farther ahead in his development than the other rookies, which is a great sign that the Browns got this draft right. Many scouts may have believed that Darnold was the better quarterback coming out of the draft. So far, Mayfield has proved them completely wrong.
Mayfield has proved me wrong as well, as he has been significantly better than Rosen. The craziest part about Mayfield’s stats and success on the field so far is that it has been with seriously incompetent coaching. With Mayfield set to improve even more over the next seven games, and the Browns on track to hopefully hire a good offensive coach next season, he could develop into something special in 2019.
