Cleveland Browns: Nick Chubb wins FedEx Ground Player of the Week
The Cleveland Browns are just racking up the awards this season. With a late push in the Twitter polls, Browns rookie running back Nick Chubb won the FedEx Ground Player of the Week award.
With just a few days to go until week 11 of the 2018 NFL season, the Cleveland Browns rookie class has been racking up some serious hardware.
Collecting six out of nine possible Rookie of the Week awards so far this season, and with a seventh almost certainly on the way after this last impressive week, Cleveland’s young guns have been beyond impressive through the first 10 games of their rookie campaigns.
On Thursday afternoon, the NFL announced that running back Nick Chubb had won the FedEx Ground Player of the Week Award.
A de facto “Running Back of the Week” award, this honor was given to Nick Chubb on the heels of his historic performance in week 10. Chubb not only ran all over the Atlanta Falcons, but he actually set a Browns record with a 92-yard touchdown run.
Chubb played a major part in Cleveland’s 28-16 upset win over the Falcons, with over 200 yards combined rushing and receiving.
Nick Chubb was one of two Cleveland Browns nominated for Rookie of the Week in week 10, along with his backfield buddy, quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Should the voting swing Chubb’s way, he may be collecting two trophies in just as many days. If the future truly is this bright in Cleveland, fans in the Dawg Pound are going to need some high-powered sunglasses.
