John Harbaugh – Baltimore Ravens head coach

November 11th: Ravens, John Harbaugh headed to a mutual parting of ways; in-season firing not discussed – Jason La Canfora, CBS Sports

One of the more surprising names on the list, John Harbaugh’s name has been rumored to be on the hot seat with the Ravens on the verge of going into a rebuild. And if the Ravens and Harbaugh do part ways, the Browns should be the first team to call and bring him in for an interview.

Harbaugh worked under Andy Reid in Philadelphia, and Reid’s relationship with Dorsey could make a Harbaugh a strong option for the Browns head coaching job. Also, as pointed out with many of the other candidates, Harbuagh has Ohio roots, and he grew up as a Browns fan. If he still has those Ohio roots, he may want to come back to lead his childhood team.

The Browns are currently in a rebuild, but their rebuild is much closer to the team being regularly in playoff contention compared to the Ravens. Harbaugh has shown that he can lead his team to a Super Bowl, and he did it that with a quarterback not as talented as Mayfield.

Harbaugh is a strong leader and he allows his offensive coordinator to do his job and lead the offense. If Harbaugh can hire a strong offensive coordinator to groom Mayfield, it would make a lot of sense to bring him in as the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns.

He has proven that he can win the division and make deep playoff runs, and he is not focused on just one of the side of the ball. Both the offense and the defense will be at the top of their games, and Harbaugh has the experience and confidence to make deep playoff runs.

If Harbaugh does lose his job in Baltimore, the Browns should be on the phone with his agent almost immediately.
