Results (Average Rank)

"1. Saquon Barkley: 2 2. Phillip Lindsay: 2.17 3. Nick Chubb: 2.83 4. Kerryon Johnson: 3.17 5. Sony Michel: 4.67 6. Rashaad Penny: 5.17"

It should be no surprise that Barkley is the top running back on this list. Many expected this before the season and should expect it now. Lindsay has been the biggest surprise this season, going from undrafted to the second best rookie running back.

Chubb currently ranks as the third best rookie running back based on these statistics, but expect him to rise on this list by the end of the season. He has been stellar this season and will get better with more carries. His ranking is also a testament to Barkley and Lindsay’s seasons too.

The Browns finding great value at running back in the second round should be reassuring to those Browns fans who thought that Barkley should’ve been the number one overall pick. It is much harder to take a quarterback in the second round than it would be to take a running back.

Chubb also has a much smaller contract than Barkley. According to Spotrac, Chubb’s cap hit is only $1.3 million this season, while Barkley’s cap hit is $5.7 million.

No matter which running back you prefer, if you’re a Browns, Giants, or Broncos fan, you are most likely pretty happy with the future of your running backs.
