The coaches getting the most buzz

Former Packers coach Mike McCarthy is, understandably, drawing a lot of speculation. He knows how to work with a franchise quarterback, but it’s fair to ask how well did he and Aaron Rodgers work together?

It’s equally fair to ask if McCarthy is open to implementing the concepts that are staples of the high-powered offenses in Kansas City and Los Angeles? Would McCarthy turn over the offense and the play calling to an offensive coordinator?

More from Browns News

These are all legitimate questions that are more important to the success of the Cleveland Browns than whether he has a previous working relationship with John Dorsey.

Lincoln Riley was Baker Mayfield’s college coach and it seems inevitable that he will be an NFL coach one day. Will next year be the year? Will the Browns be that team?

Riley fits the new “model” for the NFL. Young. Offensive minded. But there are questions? Would his offense work in the NFL? Make no mistake, if the Browns bring in Lincoln Riley, his offense comes with him.

What changes would be needed to the existing talent on the roster, and at what expense? What would his philosophy be on the defensive side of the ball? Again, these are legitimate questions that go beyond his working relationship with Baker Mayfield.
