Game: Cleveland Browns (5-7-1) at Denver Broncos (6-7)

Before last week, things were looking great for the Denver Broncos. They put a 3-6 start in the rearview as they rattled off three wins in a row — with two of those wins coming over the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers. Suddenly back in the AFC playoff race, they just needed to beat the lowly San Francisco 49ers to keep things rolling in their favor.

That didn’t happen though as they dropped that game by a score of 20-14. Now, they hope to pick up the pieces and make one last push down the stretch, but the Cleveland Browns are standing in their way.

Sitting at 5-7-1, the Browns have won three of their last four games and are coming off a fourth-quarter comeback win over the Carolina Panthers. In that victory, quarterback Baker Mayfield once again showed off what made him the top pick in the draft this season as he was on fire. He showed poise and accuracy while completing 18-of-22 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown. And what a touchdown that was as he connected with Jarvis Landry from 51-yards out while sliding to his left and throwing the ball.

This week, the Browns look to play spoiler again, while also keeping their incredibly slim playoff hopes alive — and there’s reason to believe in them. This season, the Broncos defense has been really good at slowing opponents down when it comes to scoring points, but they have given up chunks of yards, especially through the air. According to NFL.com Denver has surrendered 383.4 yards per game, which means Mayfield should find plenty of room to work with. Look for him to have another fantastic night as the Browns play spoiler to the Broncos, while also keeping their season alive.

Prediction: Cleveland 26, Denver 16
