Cleveland Browns: Week 15 game predictions vs Denver Broncos
Writer: Casey Kinnamon
Game: Cleveland Browns (5-7-1) vs Denver Broncos (6-7)
Summary: The Cleveland Browns travel to the Mile High city to take on the Denver Broncos on a short week in a primetime matchup. Even though there are three games left in the regular season, this is essentially a playoff game for both teams. It’s win out or go home.
From a personal standpoint, the Broncos have two elite pass rushers in Vonn Miller and Bradley Chubb. Outside of that, their defense is depleted at this point. As long as the Browns interior O-line can hold up and give Baker Mayfield room to step up and climb the pocket, they could negate the Broncos pressure coming off the edge.
Because the Broncos have struggled against athletic tight ends as of late, this could be a big game for David Njoku. As always, Nick Chubb should have a heavy workload. Expect the workhorse running back to make a house call or two Saturday night.
The focus of the defense will be on Phillip Lindsay. The undrafted free agent rookie running back has been gashing teams to the tune of over 6 yards per carry. That is a historically good number.
Limiting Lindsay and keeping the Broncos in predictable passing situations has to be the goal. The Broncos wide receiving corp is decimated right now and Case Keenum has been struggling to push the ball down the field.
As it often does in the NFL, this game will come down to which quarterback makes the most impactful plays.
You have to like Baker Mayfield’s chances. He will connect on four or five critical throws and keep this game out of reach, and the bandwagon will gain a few thousand more passengers. All aboard.
Prediction: Browns 27 Broncos 13
