Dud: Gregg Williams

Gregg Williams has had some good moments since he was named the interim head coach after the Browns fired Hue Jackson in October. However, he has also made a bunch of questionable decisions.

Once again, he made a questionable decision at the end of the game against the Broncos, deciding to go for it on fourth down instead of kicking a field goal to put the Browns up four points. By kicking the field goal, the Browns would have forced the Broncos to score a touchdown to win the game.

Instead, he decided to go for it on fourth down and the Browns could not pick up the first down after Greg Robinson could not seal his inside shoulder, allowing Adam Gotsis to make the stop.

However, before that play, it appeared the Browns had won the game after drawing the Broncos off-sides. Instead, Williams called a timeout before the penalty, so it gave the Broncos a chance to make that stop. It was an extremely odd decision to call timeout, as there was plenty of time of play clock.

Ultimately, the Browns defense was able to get a stop to seal the victory over the Broncos. But Williams deciding to go for it on fourth down, and then calling a timeout nullifying a defensive penalty, instead of taking the points and forcing Denver to score a touchdown almost cost the Browns the game.
