Cleveland Browns News: Playoff hopes still remain
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including their slim playoff hopes remaining alive after Week 15
Saturday was good to the Cleveland Browns as they knocked off the Denver Broncos. That moved them to 6-7-1 and kept their chances at making the playoffs alive.
Those hopes took a hit on Sunday as the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, and Pittsburgh Steelers all came away with wins. That doesn’t mean they’re done just yet.
Cleveland has to get a lot of help, but it’s still awesome that we’re talking about the postseason for the Browns as we head into Week 16.

"At lot has to happen, but here are the scenarios:The Browns must win their final two games to finish 8-7-1The Ravens must lose their final two games (including one against the Browns) to finish 8-8The Miami Dolphins must lose at least one of their final two games to finish no better than 8-8The Colts and the Titans must each lose Week 16 and then tie when they play each other Week 17 to finish 8-7-1"
Even if the Browns finish 8-7-1 and don’t make the playoffs, this season will be a huge win for them. Coming off a 0-16 season, having a winning record would be a remarkable accomplishment. It could also really help Gregg Williams in his pursuit of the head coaching job full-time.
Studs and duds from Week 15 victory in Denver
It was an up and down game in which the Browns had their share of mistakes, as well as heroic plays. Dan Justik looks back at the win and picks his studs and duds from Week 15.
"Quarterback Baker Mayfield went 18-of-31 for 188 yards and two touchdowns in the Cleveland Browns’ 17-16 victory over the Denver Broncos on Saturday night in Denver. Mayfield threw one interception, fumbled once and was sacked twice."
Mayfield did struggle to start the game and it seemed the altitude in Denver hurt him a bit. The ball was sailing on him and he overthrew several targets. In the end, he settled down and did enough to get another win.
Browns stay in the playoff race with huge win
Before seeing how the rest of the games played out, we had our instant reactions from the one-point win on Saturday night. It was fun to see the Browns in prime-time and even more fun seeing them get the win. The best part is, we are still talking playoffs with two games left.
