After Gary Barnidge came in at No. 4, we have another tight end taking the No. 3 spot in Kellen Winslow. Selected at No. 6 overall in the 2004 NFL Draft, Winslow entered the league as the next big thing at tight end. The son of a former San Diego Chargers tight end, the younger Winslow was an explosive receiving threat for the University of Miami but got off to a slow start with his career due to a broken leg as a rookie.

Winslow then had a motorcycle accident the following offseason, which resulted in a torn ACL. He also had an infection and ended up missing that entire season. He entered 2006 with just five receptions but finally got a chance to show why the Browns were so high on him. He recorded a career-high 89 receptions for 875 yards.

While his receptions dropped in 2007, he still topped the yardage and touchdowns that season. Winslow was good for 1,106 yards on 82 catches — which was good for his best single-season yard-per-reception total in his career (13.5). He also added five touchdowns in what was easily the best season of his career.

His time with the Browns ended in 2009 as they sent him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Winslow then bounced around the league for several years before playing his final season in 2013 with the New York Jets.

Lately, his name has surfaced again in several different sexual assault allegations as well as a burglary charge. It’s safe to say his post-football life hasn’t gone well, but he still makes the list as his 2007 season was one of the best this team has seen since their 1999 return.
