. DE. 2017. Myles Garrett. 5. player. 53

Here we will give a shout out to Josh Cribbs. The former return man set the team record for most return yards in a season by a rookie with 1,094 yards and ended up becoming their best player for the next several seasons after breaking out as an undrafted free agent. However, he was unable to unseat Myles Garrett here, as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft comes in at No. 5.

Garrett entered the league after starring for Texas A&M and it didn’t take long for him to show he belonged. His first game as a pro came against the New York Jets and he was impossible to block from his first snap. He wasn’t credited with the start, but he still managed two sacks, which showed his immense potential. According to NFL Network, he was the first No. 1 overall pick to log a sack in his first game since 1992.

The former Aggie continued his play by recording sacks in each of the following two games and finished the game with a respectable seven sacks. The only thing that stopped him was an ankle problem, which kept him out of the first four games of the season.

In all, Garrett missed five games due to health problems. Had he been able to stay on the field, he surely would have recorded double-digit sacks. If he had, Garrett would be much higher on this list — and could have been in line for the Rookie of the Year Award. The good news is that Garrett has proven in 2018 that he’s no one-hit wonder. As good as his rookie season was, it was a mere start rather than the highlight of his career.
