4. Trading DeShone Kizer to Packers for Damarious Randall

Dorsey made a bunch of big moves on March 9, 2018. He traded for both Tyrod Taylor and Jarvis Landry on that day. However, the biggest trade that the Browns made on that day was trading DeShone Kizer to the Green Bay Packers for Damarious Randall, while also swapping fourth and fifth-round picks.

After the trade, the Browns decided to move Randall from cornerback to free safety, the position that he played in college at Arizona State.

With the move to the position that made him a first round seleection, Randall is having the best season of his NFL career. Randall has made 75 total tackles, two tackles for loss, four interceptions, and nine passes defended.

Randall at free safety has transformed the Browns defense, as they have been able to limit the deep ball because of Randall’s ball skills. The 26-year-old safety has the ability to move sideline to sideline, allowing him to make a play on almost every deep ball.

Randall has also excelled as a tackler in space. According to Pro Football Focus, Randall has only missed five tackles all season. For a defensive back, it is a huge plus for a defense to have a reliable tackler in the back-end of their defense.

After Kizer struggled in his rookie season, being able to receive a talented player like Randall in return was a highway-robbery by Dorsey. Having Randall play center field for the Browns defense has helped the Browns create more turnovers.
