Round 6: Dexter Williams, RB, Notre Dame

Nick Chubb has the No. 1 running back position locked up and Duke Johnson is a great change of pace back — as well as a weapon as a receiver out of the backfield. They ended up using Dontrell Hilliard as a third back, but he too was more prevalent in the passing game but was also used as a kick returner.

What they could use though is another guy capable of carrying the ball 15-20 times a game should something happen to Chubb. That’s what they hope to get here with Dexter Williams out of Notre Dame. He wasn’t the featured back in South Bend until his final season, but averaged 6.3 yards per attempt and had 995 yards for the Irish. He could be a decent option as the third back should he be able to leapfrog Hilliard.

Round 7 (via Pittsburgh): Kendall Baker, OT, Georgia

With their final pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Browns again add some depth to their roster. This time they add another offensive lineman in Kendall Baker out of Georgia. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 305-pounds, Baker played tackle for the Bulldogs but could have a future at guard in the NFL.

With picks this late in the draft, teams are just looking for players they can develop. Baker played against elite talent in the SEC and held his own. That alone makes him worth kicking the tires on.
