Another premium defensive player about to hit the open market in 2019 is former No. 2 overall pick Ndamukong Suh. The Detroit Lions originally selected Suh out of Nebraska and he was an immediate impact player from the defensive tackle spot. As a rookie in 2010, he registered 65 tackles and 10 sacks from his interior position.

His ability to shut down the run and get after the quarterback made him a star and he had 241 tackles and 36 sacks in five seasons for the Lions before moving to South Beach in 2015. That year, Suh and the Miami Dolphins agreed to a six-year $114 million deal with $60 million guaranteed.

He played well for the Dolphins, but not exactly up to that contract status. Suh, who is notorious for drawing personal fouls, wore out his welcome with Miami. He was cut before 2018 and landed with the Rams on a one-year $14 million deal — another part of their attempt to make a run at the Lombardi Trophy which fell just short.

Working with Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers, Suh had 59 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Now looking to cash in once again, the Browns could offer him a home on their defensive line next to their young star Larry Ogunjobi. That would be quite the pairing and Cleveland would be impossible to block in the middle of the line.
