Trey Flowers, DE

The last player the Browns should look at from Super Bowl LIII is a player that doesn’t have the same name recognition as the others mentioned. Defensive end Trey Flowers entered the NFL in 2015 out of Arkansas as a fourth-round pick and went from a rotational player to a trusted starter on the world champions.

Injured for most of his rookie season, Flowers made his presence felt in year two. Starting eight games for New England, he recorded 45 tackles and seven sacks and added 2.5 sacks in their Super Bowl win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Flowers has remained effective and serves as the model of consistency on the Patriots defensive line. He had 6.5 sacks and 62 tackles in 2017 and another 57 tackles and 7.5 sacks this season. He’s also steadily improved his overall technique and effectiveness every season in the NFL.

According to Pro Football Focus, Flowers’ grade has gotten better every season and he had his best campaign in 2018 with a grade of 89.7 — which ranked him as the No. 6 overall left defensive end. He may not be the splashy name fans are looking for, but putting him on one side and leaving Garrett on the other could create one of the best defensive lines in the NFL.
