The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news that you need to know, including Duke Johnson’s potential trade value.

The Cleveland Browns have one of the most talented running back rooms in the NFL following the signing of Kareem Hunt. Combining Hunt with Nick Chubb and Duke Johnson creates a dynamic trio.

However, Johnson was not used often during the 2018 season with the emergence of Chubb. So with the Browns adding Hunt, Johnson could be looking at another drop in touches in 2019.

A lot will depend on how long Hunt will be suspended by the NFL. With a longer suspension, Johnson will once again be utilized as the change of pace back behind Chubb. But if Hunt receives a shorter suspension, Johnson could have value as a trade target.

Should the Browns trade Duke Johnson and could they get a 2nd-rounder? Hey, Mary Kay! – Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"Browns GM John Dorsey said last week that Johnson isn’t expendable “yet,” which means they’d consider moving him for the right deal. A team that recognizes his value in the passing game and his versatility might give up a second- or third-rounder for him, especially considering he’s only 25."

Johnson showed that he can be a valuable play-maker during the 2017 season. But his drop in touches last season was incredibly surprising. If new offensive coordinator Todd Monken sees the same thing as the previous coaching staff, then it may be smart to move Johnson.

Browns are extremely unlikely to use franchise or transition tags – Jeff Risdon, Browns Wire

"The first day for NFL teams to designate players who will get the franchise or transition tag is Tuesday, Feb. 19. Don’t expect any activity from the Cleveland Browns on this front, however."

Considering the talent the Browns have on their roster, their free agent class this off-season will surprisingly not be that expensive. For who the Browns will have to re-sign, there is no reason for them to place the franchise tag or the transition tag on any player.
