2. D.K. Metcalf, Ole Miss

And now, we come to the athletically gifted freak of nature, Ole Miss’s own, D.K. Metcalf. Originally the No. 2 option for the Rebels coming into 2018, Metcalf’s physicality and speed brought him into the public eye during the season. Oh, yeah, and he’s absolutely jacked, too. That’s certainly helped his popularity during draft season.

If Metcalf was playing at 10 percent body fat, which is still perfectly healthy, he’d be a 6-foot-2, 250-pound wide receiver. Not only his Metcalf an athletic specimen, but he’s almost too ripped. An NFL diet plan and weight room will probably beef up Metcalf, and that’s perfectly okay. This is a boom or bust prospect who likely won’t make it to the Browns anyway. But if he does, then John Dorsey has a decision to make.

Dorsey doesn’t normally take wide receivers on the first day of the draft, but a good Combine from Metcalf might force him to do so, if he makes it to No. 17. If Metcalf works out, and he succeeds at the next level, then he’s really going to succeed at the next level.

The NFL might have the next Calvin Johnson, or Josh Gordon without the problems, on their hands. And that might be an offer that is too good for the Browns to refuse, especially with a young quarterback like Baker Mayfield, who can get the most out of D.K. Metcalf.
