Miami Dolphins – Right Tackle Ja’Wuan James

Staying on the offensive line, there is not much good talent available at the offensive tackle position this off-season. It is not often that solid starting offensive linemen reach free agency and that appears to be the case again this off-season.

One of the offensive tackles that is surprisingly currently set to hit the free agent market is right tackle Ja’Wuan James. The Dolphins appear to want to bring James back, but it does not seem that they are willing to pay a high price tag for him.

The 26-year-old played well in 2018 and did a good job of limiting pressure on the quarterback. James allowed only 26 pressures the entire season, but seven of those pressures resulted in sacks.

With the potential that he showed and entering free agency in his mid-20’s, James is set to get a good payday this off-season. Because of how few solid starting offensive linemen reach free agency, the top players at the position in the free agent class typically get a big deal.

If the Browns feel that they need to improve at right tackle, then James could be the most attractive option in free agency. But for that move to make sense, they would have to move on from Hubbard’s contract and absorb some dead cap.

But if they feel that James would be an upgrade over Hubbard, it would be better in the long run for Cleveland considering the most important thing the organization has to do is to protect Baker Mayfield.
