Dallas Cowboys – Wide Receiver Terrance Williams

The Cleveland Browns want to continue to add weapons to the offense and give Baker Mayfield plenty of targets to abuse a defense. One area that the organization had paid attention to is the wide receiver group.

More from Browns News

Last off-season – and throughout the regular season – the Browns made it a point of emphasis to add talent to the wide receiver room. Most notably, the Browns added Jarvis Landry, Antonio Callaway, Breshad Perriman, and Damion Ratley.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the front office continue to focus on the position this off-season, especially with the potential loss of Perriman. The Browns already signed Jaelen Strong, and they should consider looking at Terrance Williams in free agency.

Williams only caught two passes in 2018 and was nonexistent in the Cowboys offense. The 29-year-old had foot surgery last off-season and was never able to fully recover by the time the season started. After playing three games, he was placed on injured reserve. He was also suspended for three games after being placed on injured reserve.

Although Williams has never been able to establish himself as a big-time receiver, he has been productive during his time with the Cowboys. At 6-foot-2, Williams has the athleticism to compete for contested throws and make plays on jump balls. He also has shown the ability to be an effective red zone player.

Depending on the approach the Browns take this off-season, Williams would be an option as a potential depth piece for a cheap price. If he is able to return healthy, perhaps playing in the Freddie Kitchens-Todd Monken ‘Air Raid’ offense will better utilize Williams’ ability.
