Sign wide receiver Tyrell Williams

The idea of adding a deep threat at wide receiver has been floated since the Browns ended their season. While many are looking at Odell Beckham, Jr., Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com brings up another name in Tyrell Williams. And according to her, the Browns are seriously interested in the Los Angeles Chargers receiver who could not only replace Breshad Perriman but serve as an upgrade.

More from Browns News

"“The Browns could be interested in Williams, in part, because they haven’t been able to strike a deal with former first-round pick Breshad Perriman, who’s set to become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday. Perriman, signed by the Browns in October as a street free agent, might be opting to let the market set his price. ” — Cabot. Cleveland.com"

The Browns know Williams’ talent well as he was integral in the Chargers 38-14 win over Cleveland back in October. In that game, Williams recorded 118 yards and a touchdown on just three receptions. Big games like that aren’t uncommon for Williams who averages 16.3 yards per reception for his career.

His best season as a pro came back in 2016 when Williams was filling in for an injured Keenan Allen. That year, he wound up with 1,059 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. With Allen healthy and Mike Williams coming along for the Bolts, Williams will be looking for a new home and the Browns should be the team that offers him the best situation to thrive.
