2. Devin Bush, Linebacker, Michigan

There were some rumors that the Cleveland Browns were trying to add linebacker C.J. Mosley in free agency. That never came to fruition as the former Baltimore Ravens linebacker landed with the New York Jets on a mammoth five-year, $85 million deal. With the Browns (understandably) not willing to part with that kind of money for a linebacker, they could look to the draft to find a playmaker for the mid-level.

More from Browns Draft

With Devin White out of LSU seemingly a lock to be gone before the Browns draft, their best bet could be to land Devin Bush from Michigan. Much like Jabrill Peppers, who also was a Wolverine, Bush comes into the NFL undersized for a linebacker. Peppers ended up moving to safety, but Bush is a little heavier than Peppers and is expected to stay at his natural spot in the NFL.

During his time at Michigan, Bush racked up 172 tackles and 10 sacks in three seasons — although one he played just seven games as a reserve. The 234-pound Bush also showed off his athleticism in the combine by running a blistering 4.43 in the 40-yard dash and hitting 40.5 inches on his vertical leap.

There’s an opening in the linebacker corps after the Browns cut Jamie Collins, which could lead them to add a player. Bush is a different style of player than Collins but they could shift things around to get him on the field as he would improve their ability to cover tight ends while also giving them a player who can fly all over the field to make the big hits they were lacking in 2018.
