5. At New York Jets

The Browns and Jets were given the Thursday Night Football designation last season, and it paid off big time for the executives who scheduled the game. Baker Mayfield saw his first regular season action and the Browns won their first game since 2016, resulting in great ratings for NFL Network.

Heading into 2019, there are good odds the two teams are once again matched-up in a primetime game. With Mayfield and Sam Darnold set in stone as the team’s starting quarterbacks, the 2019 game will feature the two top quarterbacks selected in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Also, both teams are expected to be more competitive than they were last season. Similar to the Browns, the Jets also added big-time talent this off-season with the additions of Le’Veon Bell and C.J. Mosley.

Throw in former Browns interim head coach, Gregg Williams, being the defensive coordinator for the Jets and there are too many connections to not make this a primetime game. The main question is which day will this game be on?

After the ratings the game pulled off last season, another game on Thursday Night Football could be in the works. But the NFL could decide to capitalize on this game being prevalent in the league’s history and put it on Monday Night Football.

The Browns and Jets were featured on the first Monday Night Football game in the league’s history in 1970. Because the league is celebrating its 100th anniversary this season, putting the two teams on Monday Night Football once again could honor that significant moment in the league’s history.
