Round 6, Pick 189: C.J. Conrad, TE, Kentucky

After releasing Darren Fells, John Dorsey went after a former player of his as he signed Demetrius Harris from the Kansas City Chiefs. More of a blocker, Harris should be the No. 2 tight end behind David Njoku.

They also brought back Orson Charles, but he will likely serve as the fullback more than anything else. That leaves Seth DeValve as the third tight end but there’s little chance he receives no competition for that job. Here they bring in C.J. Conrad out of Kentucky for some competition. Conrad is above average as a blocker but needs to improve as a pass catcher in order to have a long NFL career.

Round 7, Pick 221: John Baron, K, San Diego State

Following a few knuckleball kicks, Greg Joseph ended up settling into his role as the Browns placekicker nicely. He ended up going 17-of-20 on field goal attempts but was 25-of-29 on extra points which leads to some competition being brought in.

John Baron, the left-footed kicker from San Diego State gets that shot as he’s the final pick for the Browns in this mock draft. Baron was good on 50-of-60 kicks in his career for SDSU and 135-of-137 on extra points. There’s no guarantee he makes the roster but his addition could pay off should it push Joseph to be even better in 2019.
